Dan O's line in this part of the video was a hot button topic...you'll have to watch the rest and give me your opinion: |

The Six Degrees Connection2010-02-13 07:28:16 | View Upcoming Productions | Join The Mission | See More Footage On FacebookContent Extras: MP3 - People Don't Take The Time - Jared Mahone Last evening we hosted the preview event for Six Degrees of Dublin. Our goal was to effectively introduce these mediums [panel, video, music] and this platform [performing arts theater] for delivering community awareness and growth. It's one of many formats you'll see us generating and delivering content in. My good buddy Jared Mahone just published a song this past week, for his 52 songs in 52 weeks Mixtape Project and the hook has been ringing in my head since, "People don't take the time. Hey, people don't take the time". The funny part about that song is, Jared hasn't even finished the lyrics for the tune! He actually invited his fan base to fill in the unfinished lyrics on the comment section of his blog, stating: "I realize there might be some legal, intellectual property issues if someone's lyrics are so good that they happened to be used in the final draft of the song. But it's nothing that I wouldn't be more than willing to work out and share with anyone of you. This is OUR project. Listener influenced." That's really investing your interests into the better good of the whole and it sings these words to me: I'll establish, You'll enhance, We'll create. Back to the real reason I mentioned that song. The vision is that when we really invest ourselves into each moment of interaction with others, there's growth in understanding for the desire of another person's mission, calling and talents. If you were able to attend the premiere, there was a message delivered in every section of that presentation and each one built upon the former. This thing is a living breathing organism, and we as a community have every bit the ability to influence it's growth, just by taking the time. Thanks for hanging with us! There should be a steady flow of updates on the project here over the next couple weeks....keep crawling back! |
